Whether you're looking to add length, volume, or a pop of colour to your hair, extensions can be a great way to achieve the look you want, and help boost your confidence with your hair, with a variety of styles and application methods available to make the finished look as tailored to you as possible.

Whether you're a first-time hair extension user or a seasoned pro, read on to learn more about which type may be best for you.

Now Offering Hair Extensions

We’re excited to announce that Olivia is now fully trained to apply hair extensions and we offer a range of styles in the salon to suit your preference and budgets. Choose from:

  • Tapes
  • Micro rings
  • Nano rings
  • Invisible weft

Tape Extensions Explained

Tape extensions are a type of hair extension that uses a double-sided tape to attach wefts of hair to your natural hair. The tape is usually made of medical-grade adhesive and is designed to be gentle on the hair and scalp.

The wefts are then pressed together using a special tool to secure the tape in place. Tape extensions can be applied quickly and easily and typically last between six to eight weeks before they need to be removed and reinstalled.

We only use the best real hair by BeautyWorks. Which, when taken care of correctly, last much longer than other types of hair extensions. Some salons may use synthetic hair, but we would never use this as we focus on quality.

The wefts of hair come in a variety of lengths, colours and textures.

One of the benefits of tape extensions is that they are lightweight and comfortable to wear, which makes them a popular choice for people with fine or thin hair, providing a natural-looking result.

What are Micro Ring Extensions?

Micro ring extensions, also known as micro loop extensions, are a type of hair extension that uses small metal rings or loops to attach wefts of hair to your natural hair. The rings are usually made of aluminium or copper and are lined with silicone to prevent damage to the hair.

To apply micro ring extensions, a small section of your natural hair is pulled through the ring, and then a weft of hair is inserted through the ring and secured in place with pliers. The rings are clamped shut, holding the extension in place.

Benefits of micro ring extensions include the fact that they don’t require heat or adhesive, which makes them a gentler option for people with sensitive scalps or hair that is prone to damage. They also allow for more natural movement of the hair and can be reused multiple times, making them a cost-effective and sustainable option in the long run.

Nano Ring Extensions Explained?

Akin to micro rings, nano rings are a type hair extension that uses small, lightweight metal rings to attach wefts of hair to your natural hair. The rings used in nano ring extensions are much smaller than the ones used in micro ring extensions, typically measuring only 2.5mm in diameter.

To application process is the same as micro rings, where a small section of your natural hair is pulled through the ring and secured in place with the weft of hair, before being clamped shut.

One of the benefits of nano ring extensions is that they are very lightweight and comfortable to wear, which makes them a good option for people with fine or thin hair.

What is an Invisible Weft?

An invisible weft is a type of hair extension that is designed to be virtually undetectable when installed correctly. Unlike traditional weft extensions, which are sewn onto a braided base, an invisible weft is installed using a unique method that involves a silicone-lined bead and thread.

To install an invisible weft, a small section of your natural hair is pulled through the silicone-lined bead, and then the weft of hair is sewn onto the bead using a special thread. The bead is then clamped shut, holding the extension in place.

Providing a seamless, natural-looking result that blends in with your natural hair. It also allows for more natural movement of the hair and is gentle on the scalp, making it a good option for people with sensitive skin.

Things to Consider with Hair Extensions

It's important to note that any type of hair extension can be a time consuming process, requiring careful installation and regular upkeep.

Hair extensions should also be applied and removed by a trained professional to avoid damage to your natural hair and scalp.
